Eagles Ranked In Ninth Straight Poll, Sit No. 20 in Nation

The Ashland University men's basketball team was ranked No. 20 in the latest NABC Division II coaches' poll that was released on Tuesday (Feb. 12) afternoon.

The Eagles (19-4, 11-4 GLIAC) are coming off a weekend road trip split, beating Ferris State last Thursday, 67-56, before falling to Lake Superior State, 77-66, in Sault Ste. Marie on Saturday. Ashland swept the season series with the Bulldogs, who are the defending NCAA Division II national champions.

This is the ninth straight poll in which the Eagles have been ranked in the top 25.

The Eagles are one of two GLIAC teams ranked nationally with Davenport climbing to the No. 18 spot.

The Eagles have the third-best scoring defense in the country, giving up just 62.3 points per game.

Ashland will look for its 20th win of the season on Thursday (Feb. 14) at 7:30 p.m. when it takes on Purdue Northwest at Kates Gymnasium.
