Noble Selected To Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

Ashland University junior center Drew Noble was named to the Google Drive Academic All-District team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (Feb. 21) night.

Noble is the first AU player since guard Brett Bartlett in 2008 to be named to the Academic All-District team.

Noble, a native of Louisville, Ohio, ranks eighth in the GLIAC in scoring this season at 17 points per game, while sitting fourth in the league in field goals made (156) and free throws made (100).

He also averages six rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 50 percent from the floor and 82 percent from the free throw line. He leads 18th-ranked Ashland in blocks with 29 and is third on the team with 57 assists.

The 6-foot-8 Noble was named the GLIAC South Player of the Week on Monday (Feb. 18) after averaging 24.5 points and eight rebounds per game in wins over Purdue Northwest and Parkside. He has scored in double figures in 22 of his 25 games played, while scoring at least 20 points eight times.

In the classroom, Noble is an accounting major with a 3.78 grade point average. He is now eligible for the Google Cloud Academic All-America team, which will be announced in mid-March.

Avery Hudson from Davenport was the only other Academic All-District standout in the GLIAC.

The Eagles (21-4, 13-4 GLIAC) will take on Northwood Thursday (Feb. 21) night at 8 p.m. in Midland, Mich. as they look to add to their postseason resume.
