Eagles Ranked No. 23 Heading Into Regular Season Finale

The Ashland University men's basketball team was ranked No. 23 in the latest NABC Division II coaches' poll released on Tuesday (Feb. 26) afternoon.

It is the 11th straight poll in which the Eagles (22-5, 14-5 GLIAC) have been ranked in the top 25. Ashland was ranked as high as No. 6 earlier this season.

The Eagles are coming off a weekend road split at Northwood and Saginaw Valley, defeating the Timberwolves, 83-77, before falling to Saginaw Valley at the buzzer, 59-56.

Davenport is the only other GLIAC school listed in the coaches' poll at No. 11.

The Eagles were ranked No. 4 in the first edition of the NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings. The next release of the regional rankings will come on Wednesday (Feb. 27).

The Eagles, who have clinched the No. 2 seed in the GLIAC Tournament, will play Wayne State on Thursday (Feb. 28) at 7:30 p.m. at Kates Gymnasium in their regular season finale.
