Ashland University junior center Drew Noble and redshirt-senior guard Ben Haraway were named to the All-GLIAC first, and redshirt-sophomore guard Aaron Thompson was selected to the All-GLIAC second team, the league office announced on Friday (March 8) night.
Thompson was also named to the GLIAC All-Defensive team.
It is the first time in program history the Eagles have had two players selected to the first team in the same season.
Noble was named to the All-GLIAC team for the second time in his career after earning second team honors as a sophomore. He leads the Eagles (23-6) and ranks sixth in the GLIAC in scoring at 17.1 points per game. Noble is third in the league in field goals (181) and fifth in free throws (114).
The Louisville, Ohio native is shooting 50.4 percent from the field, 35 percent from 3-point range and 80.9 percent from the line. He won two of the last three GLIAC South Player of the Week awards of the regular season and scored in double figures in 26 of 29 games this season.
Noble scored a career-high 33 points in a win over defending national champion Ferris State on Dec. 1. He scored his 1,000th career point on Feb. 23 at Saginaw Valley.
Haraway is also a two-time All-GLIAC selection after earning second team honors last season. He was also the GLIAC Freshman of the Year in 2015 while playing at Malone.
He is tied for second on the team in scoring at 12.5 points per game, while also averaging 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He is shooting 43.1 percent from the floor, 36.4 percent from 3-point range and 73.4 percent from the free throw line.
Haraway also has 1.2 steals per game and has a 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio – one of the best marks in the GLIAC. He scored the 1,000th point in his Ashland career on Feb. 9 at Lake Superior State.
Thompson is enjoying a breakout season as a redshirt-sophomore guard, having posted a GLIAC-high 11 double-doubles on the season. He leads the GLIAC in rebounding (9.4) as a 6-foot-3 wing player, while also scoring 11.1 points per game.
Thompson ranks sixth in the GLIAC in field goal percentage (54.5) and also averages 1.4 steals per game.
The Eagles, who were eliminated from the GLIAC Tournament on Tuesday, await their NCAA Tournament fate with the field being announced on Sunday at 10:30 p.m.
