Ashland University junior center Drew Noble was selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Midwest District first team the organization announced on Monday (March 25) morning.
Noble is just the second player in program history to earn NABC all-district honors after Wendell Davis was named all-district three times (2015, 2016, 2018) in his career.
It is the second region honor for Noble after he was a D2CCA second-team honoree. He was also selected to the All-GLIAC first team earlier in the postseason.
Noble, a Louisville, Ohio native, helped lead the Eagles to their second NCAA Tournament in four years. He ranked fifth in the GLIAC in scoring (17.2 per game) and 11th in rebounding (6.4 per game).
Noble showed remarkable efficiency as well, shooting 50.5 percent (186-for-368) from the field, 35 percent (21-for-60) from 3-point range and 80.9 percent (123-for-152) from the free throw line. He was third in the league in field goals made and fifth in made free throws.
Noble averaged 2.1 assists per game as one of the focal points of the AU offense. He was also fourth in the GLIAC with 33 blocks.
The 6-foot-8 Noble scored his 1,000th career point at Saginaw Valley on Feb. 23 and now has 1,054 points in his career. He scored 19 points and collected eight rebounds in the Eagles' 66-60 defeat in the NCAA Tournament against Southern Indiana.
Noble scored in double figures 27 times and reached the 20-point mark in nine games. He scored a career-high 33 points in a win over defending national champion Ferris State on Dec. 1.
The Eagles finished the season with a 23-7 overall record and were the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Midwest Regional tournament. Head coach John Ellenwood wrapped up his 10th season on the AU bench.
