The Ashland University men's basketball team climbed four spots to No. 11 in the latest edition of the NABC Division II national poll released on Tuesday (Nov. 26) afternoon.
The Eagles (4-0) debuted this season at No. 19 in the preseason poll, then were No. 15 in the first regular season rankings last week.
Ashland has started the season with four wins, including three in-region victories over Lake Erie, Ohio Dominican and Alderson Broaddus.
Last season the Eagles climbed as high as No. 6 in the national poll after starting the year with 13 straight victories.
The Eagles have rolled out of the gates offensively by averaging 91 points per game with five players averaging double figures in scoring.
Senior center Drew Noble is averaging 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 62 percent form the floor.
Freshman guard Ethan Conley has been the Eagles' hottest shooter, leading the GLIAC in field goal accuracy at 77.3 percent. His 73.7 percent (14-for-19) shooting from 3-point range ranks second nationally.
The Eagles are also holding their opponents to just 62.5 points per game and 38 percent shooting.
Ashland will play its next four games away from Kates Gymnasium, starting Friday (Nov. 29) at 5:30 p.m. when they play Le Moyne in the opening game of the Gary Miller Classic in Erie, Pa. The winner will play the winner of Gannon-Alderson Broaddus on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Friday's losing teams will play Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
