The Ashland University men's golf team finished eighth out of 10 teams on Tuesday (Sept. 18) at Bowling Green's John Piper Intercollegiate Championships.
AU had a team score of 910. Cleveland State (886) won the team title with Oakland (891) in second place. Wisconsin-Parkside (894) was third.
Ashland's best score belonged to senior Mark Scott (Bolivar, Ohio/Tuscarawas Valley), who tied for seventh. He shot 221. Senior Brendan Jenkins (Dublin, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) tied for 19th (227). Freshman Austin Schreiber (Medina, Ohio) tied for 23rd (229).
Bowling Green's Wes Gates was the top individual. He shot 206.
