The Ashland University men's golf team finished its fall schedule with impressive showings at the GLIAC Championships and Midwest Regional tournaments.  As the current players use the winter to polish their skills for the spring, the roster has also been strengthened as the program received a letter of intent from Tallmadge, Ohio product, Zach Mosholder.

Mosholder earned first team All-Northeast Ohio laurels in each of the last three years and was a first team All-Suburban League member four times in his high school career.  Mosholder has shown the ability to record low scores and the poise to win tournaments.  He shot a school-record 66 in the Hoban Invitational at Firestone West and a 69 at the Wooster Invitational in 2013.  He also won medalist honors at the Suburban League postseason tournament his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.

"He's a great kid with high character and a good player," said AU head coach Darrin Jones.  "He's shown the ability to score at any golf course he plays and he realizes his own potential.  My job is to help him reach his maximum potential, but he's polished and doesn't need to change his game.  That's a huge reason why we recruited him."

The Eagles begin their spring schedule Mar. 14 with a two-day event in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at the Tiffin Invitational.
