Men's Golf Tees Off At Regional On Monday

The AU men's golf team will begin play at its NCAA regional tournament on Monday (May 5). The Eagles are in Eureka, Mo., for the Midwest-Central Regional Tournament. This tournament will run through Wednesday.

The Eagles are in the tournament as a team for the first time since 2011-12. AU is one of seven GLIAC teams in this field. The Eagles are joined by Tiffin, Malone, Grand Valley State, Wayne State, Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State.

For AU golf fans, this is a big week. Both the AU men and women are in NCAA postseason play. The women began play on Sunday in Noblesville, Ind.

"It's like I told the guys earlier this week, 'This is a reward," said AU head coach Darrin Jones, just before the Eagles left town for Missouri. "I told them they should enjoy this."
