Eagles Finish Season at GLIAC Championships

The Ashland men's golf team stepped out on the links for the final time this fall, competing in the 2014 GLIAC Golf Championships. The three day tournament was held at Cherry Blossom Golf Course in Georgetown, Kentucky, from October 10-12th. The Eagles came away in 13th place out of the 15 teams competing at the Championships.

Brandon Nixon and Jake Houston turned in the Eagles best rounds on the weekend; both players shot rounds of 71. Nixon also had the lowest three day score of 219. He finished tied for 22nd place. Rounding out the field for the Eagles were Jake Houston (229), Austin Schreiber (230), Eric Dowiatt (233), Gabe Reynolds (152). Reynolds score reflects two rounds of play.

Nick Paxos from Walsh University was the medalist; he finished seven under par with a 209 in his three combined rounds.

Tiffin won the GLIAC team championship by 12 strokes over Malone. The top five teams were Tiffin (856), Malone (868), Grand Valley State (871), Lake Superior State (871), and Wayne State (873).
