Spring is finally here.
On the first weekend of the spring season, the Ashland University men's golf team placed seventh overall in the two-day Saginaw Valley State University Spring Invitational at Boone Links Golf Course in Florence, Ky.
On Sunday (March 22), the Eagles battled to a second-round team score of 321. Combining with the 309 it shot in the first round, AU posted a two-day score of 630.
Lewis won the invite with a combined score of 596. The Flyers had six fewer strokes than Lake Superior State, which finished second with a 602.
AU junior Austin Schreiber shot a 151 in his two rounds, earning himself an 11th-place individual finish. Senior Jake Houston finished in 33rd place with a 158.
The Eagles will be back on the road on March 29-30, as they head to Wisconsin-Parkside in a two-day tournament.
