Men's Golf Finishes 14th At AMFAM Spring Invitational

The Ashland University men's golf team came home with a 14th-place finish at the AMFAM Spring Invitational hosted by Wisconsin-Parkside.

The 15-team invitational was delayed both Sunday (March 29) and Monday (March 30) mornings due to frost. Once play got underway, the Eagles shot a 319 on Sunday and found themselves in 14th place. They improved on Monday by shooting a 307.

Grand Valley State University won the tournament with a 596, three strokes better than the University of Indianapolis (599).

Junior Austin Schreiber had rounds of 77 and 75 for the Eagles. He finished 25th individually. Senior Jake Houston finished just one stroke back of Schreiber with rounds of 79 and 74. He came away with a 31st-place finish.

The Eagles will be in the Great Lakes Regional tournament Friday (April 3) and Saturday (April 4) in Batavia, Ohio.
