Men's Golf Tied For Fourth After Day 1 At GLIAC North Invite

The Eagles have their eyes on the leader.

After the first day of the men's golf Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North invite, the Ashland men's golf team finds itself tied for fourth place, just six strokes back of the leader, Northern Michigan.

The Eagles shot a 297 on Sunday (Sept. 20), led by senior Brandon Nixon, who fired off an even-par 72. Nixon finds himself tied for fifth place overall.

Fellow senior Austin Schreiber notched a 2-over-par 74, tied for 21st place. Sophomore Gabriel Reynolds was just one-stroke back of Schreiber, clubbing a 75.

Sophomore Chandler Walnsch carded a 76 and freshman Austin Kondratick tallied a 78.

The Eagles will return to the tees at HawksHead Links, in South Haven, Mich, on Monday (Sept. 21) in the final day of the tournament at 8:30 a.m.
