Eagles Shoot 314 In Day 1 Of Great Lakes Regional

The Ashland University men's golf team finished Day 1 of the Great Lakes Regional in Eureka, Mo., 17 strokes back of first place with a first-round 314 at the Fox Run Country Club. 

Sophomore Chandler Walnsch recorded the Eagles' best round with a 75. Redshirt freshman Frank Steffen shot a 76. Rounding out the field were senior Austin Schreiber (80), redshirt sophomore Gabriel Reynolds (83) and freshman Austin Kondratick (90).
     
Storms on Monday (Oct. 12) caused a 75-minute weather delay that resulted in several schools being unable to complete the first round. Round 1 will be completed on Tuesday (Oct. 13) morning, then the second round will begin with a shotgun start around 10 a.m.
