After Day 1, which took place on Sunday (Oct. 16), the Ashland University men's golf team is in eighth place among 15 teams at the two-round, two-day Motor City Invitational, hosted by Wayne State.

The Eagles are 25 strokes back of first-place Grand Valley State.

Of the five AU golfers, three sit in the top 25 of the 83-man field.

Head coach Darrin Jones changed his starting lineup for the first time this season, adding freshman Luke Dorman to the mix.

Freshman Patrick Steffen is tied with three golfers for 21st, as he shot a team-best 77, which is five strokes over par.  Sophomore Austin Kondratick and redshirt sophomore Frank Steffen are both in an 11-man pack at 6-over par.

Dorman is tied with two golfers in 65th place at 14-over par. Junior Chandler Walnsch is alone in 76th at 20-over par.

UP NEXT: Ashland will play the final round of the tournament on Monday (Oct. 16).
