Ashland Men Play Day 1 Of Findlay Fall Invitational

Ashland University's men's golf team began play in the Findlay Fall Invitational on Sunday (Sept. 24) at Red Hawk Run Golf Course.

The Eagles sit 13th in the 15-team tournament after a first-round team score of 307. Indianapolis and Malone (285) lead the field after the first 18 holes, while Wayne State and Northwood (293) are tied for third place.

Ashland's top score on Sunday came from a player who was participating as an individual, junior Tyler Starr. Starr is tied for 11th individually following his one-under round of 71.

Leading the team scoring was junior Austin Kondratick, who carded a 73. Senior Chandler Walnsch fired a 77, followed by freshman Ben Jones (78), sophomore Patrick Steffen (79) and junior Cole Smith (87).

Ashland's other individual players on Sunday were junior Frank Steffen (80) and freshman Hunter Lowder (81).
