It's been a steady-as-it-goes spring so far for Ashland University's men's golf team.

On Day 1 of the Music City Invitational on Monday (April 1) in Old Hickory, Tenn., the Eagles carded a team score of 300. So far this spring, in five rounds, Ashland's men have finished at 298, 297, 305, 305 and 300.

Pacing the Eagles in the first 18 holes of the invite was senior Austin Kondratick, whose 1-under-par 71 is good for a tie for 13th individually. Kondratick birdied three holes on Monday, including two in a three-hole stretch on No. 15 and 17.

Junior Patrick Steffen was next with a 75, putting him in a tie for 37th. His total included two birdies. Next in line was senior Cole Smith, who fired a 76, including third birds, to be in a tie for 51st.

Rounding out the team effort for Ashland were sophomore Ben Jones (78, three birdies, tied for 67th) and redshirt freshman Luke Tanner (80, two birdies, tied for 76th).

As a team, the Eagles are in 12th place in the 18-team field. Hillsdale leads with a scorching total of 14-under 274, followed by host Trevecca Nazarene (283), Grand Valley State (285) and Drury (287). Trevecca Nazarene's Blain Turner fired a 7-under 65 to pace the individual leaderboard by one stroke.

The second and final day of the Music City Invitational will be played on Tuesday (April 2).
