No round for Ashland University's men's golf team in 2018-19 has been as low as the one the Eagles shot on Tuesday (April 2) in Old Hickory, Tenn.

On the second and final day of the Music City Invitational, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene, Ashland fired a season-best team total of 291 en route to a ninth-place finish (300-291—591) in the 18-team invite. That second-day score was tied for third-best in the field on Tuesday.

Once again, senior Austin Kondratick was the Eagles' pacesetter, ending in a tie for ninth-place individually at 71-71—142. Kondratick collected four birdies on Tuesday, including back-to-back on holes No. 11 and 12, and in six spring rounds, is averaging a score of 71.7.

Junior Patrick Steffen joined Kondratick with a second-day 71, which included three birdies, and placed in a tie for 21st at 75-71—146. Sophomore Ben Jones birdied three holes on the front nine on Tuesday to finish at 78-72—150 and a tie for 43rd.

Ashland's No. 4 on the tournament was senior Cole Smith, who tied for 56th at 76-77—153. Redshirt freshman Luke Tanner was 81st at 80-80—160.

Hillsdale won the team title at 274-295—569, followed by Findlay (288-283—571), Trevecca Nazarene (283-292—575) and Grand Valley State (285-292—577). Hillsdale's Josh Davenport, Northwood's Jagger Richard and Trevecca Nazarene's Ryan Rozic all finished atop the individual leaderboard at 5-under 139, with Rozic taking the tiebreaker.

The Eagles' average fall round in five tournaments was 302.7, and in three spring tourneys, that average has been shaved down to 299.3.

Ashland's men will continue the 2019 spring championship season at the Purgatory Regional in Noblesville, Ind., on Sunday-Tuesday (April 7-9).
