Playing for the first time in the NCAA postseason on Thursday (May 9) at the NCAA Division II Central/Midwest super regional at Hot Springs Country Club, Arlington Course, in Hot Springs, Ark., Ashland University senior Austin Kondratick carded a 2-over-par round of 74.

The top six teams from the Central/Midwest super regional, and the top two individuals not on those six teams, advance to the 2019 NCAA Division II Championships, May 21-25 at The Resort at Glade Springs, Cobb Course in Daniels, W.Va. After 18 holes, Kondratick stands tied for 21st overall, and among those not on the top six teams, is five shots back.

Kondratick started his day at hole No. 18 with par. He birdied hole No. 2, parred nine consecutive holes at one point, and finished his day at 1-under on par-3s, 3-over on par-4s and even on par-5s.

The second and third rounds of the super regional will be contested on Friday (May 10) in Arkansas, with the threat of rain forcing 36 holes of play to finish the tournament a day earlier than originally scheduled.
