Finishing play on Tuesday (Sept. 24) at Findlay's Doc Spragg Fall Invitational, junior Ben Jones placed sixth individually, while Ashland University's men's golf team as a whole tied for seventh in the 18-team field.

Jones' third-round score of 1-under-par 71 allowed him to end at 73-70-71—214 – five shots behind individual medalist Brendan Seys of Wayne State (69-69-71—209). His three-day total ties for the lowest in the program since 1996-97, joining his teammate, senior Patrick Steffen.

Jones had back-to-back birdies on holes No. 3 and 4 on Tuesday, and through the first six rounds of 2019-20, is averaging a par score of 72.

Freshman Andrew Kolar turned in the best placement of his young AU career, tying for 12th place at 72-77-71—220. Kolar had birdies on holes No. 1 and 10, and has an average of 73.8 through his first six collegiate rounds.
