Eagle Men Begin Play At Midwest Regional

Ashland University's men's golf team played the first 36 holes of the Midwest Regional at Fox Run in Missouri on Monday (Oct. 7), and finished the day 13th in the 17-team field.

The Eagles' team tally was 309-317—626. McKendree is in the lead at 292-298—590, followed closely by Maryville (297-294—591) and Lindenwood (297-296—593).

Freshman Andrew Kolar is tied for 15th individually through Day 1, ending at 4-over-par 75-73—148. Kolar had five birdies on the day, and is eight shots behind co-leaders Josh Davenport of Hillsdale (73-67—140) and Ryan Rozic of Trevecca Nazarene (67-73—140).

Junior Ben Jones is tied for 53rd at 78-79—157, while senior Patrick Steffen is tied for 58th at 76-83—159. Sophomore Brent Dillon is tied for 75th (80-83—163), and sophomore Jace Ruggerio is tied for 80th (84-82—166).

The third and final round of the regional will be contested on Tuesday (Oct. 8) at 9 a.m.
