GLIAC Leader Parkside Hands Eagles Road Loss

The Ashland University men's soccer team lost a 6-0 decision to GLIAC leader Parkside on Friday (Nov. 1) afternoon in frigid Kenosha, Wis.

The Rangers (10-5-1, 9-2-1 GLIAC) scored two goals in a one-minute stretch of the first half to take a 2-0 lead and took a 3-0 advantage into halftime. The hosts scored three more in the second half as they capitalized on seven shots on goal in the game.

The Eagles (5-9-1, 5-6-1 GLIAC) stayed in the game and were only out-shot by a 10-8 margin, but the Rangers took advantage of their opportunities while All-GLIAC goalkeeper Juan Gonzalez made six saves to keep a clean sheet for Parkside.

Leki Prpa, who was an All-GLIAC first team standout last season, scored two goals and notched an assist while Jack Mittelsteadt scored twice.

Sophomore forward Brandon Davidson led the Eagles with three shots in the game.

The Eagles, who clinched their spot in the GLIAC Tournament last week, will travel to Northern Michigan on Sunday (Nov. 3) for a 1 p.m. kickoff against the Wildcats.
