Andy Kilner, a former professional player and manager in the United Kingdom and other European locales, is in his third season at Ashland University as a volunteer assistant coach.

Kilner signed his first professional soccer contract on his 17th birthday, and played more than 200 pro games overseas in the UK and other parts of Europe, scoring 93 goals. His top goal-scoring season came in 1990 with Jonsereds IF in Sweden, as Kilner potted 20 goals in 36 games.

He also represented England in nine international appearances, scoring seven goals.

Kilner began coaching following the end of his playing career at age 28 due to injury. Included in that coaching career is a two-year run (1999-2001) as manager of Stockport County F.C., a Football League Division One club in England. He was the youngest manager in England at age 32.

Kilner later joined the analysis staff of Sunderland of the English Premier League from 2002-06.

Since 2016, Kilner has been the owner/operator of AK Cleveland Elite FC, which features 8-under to 18-under boys and girls soccer teams.
