Ashland Men Suffer Road Defeat At Francis Marion

Ashland University's men's tennis team lost its first match of its trip south to Francis Marion on Monday (March 3), 6-1.

"We dropped a tough bout today. Francis Marion is a tough team, and this was a good test for us as we push toward conference play," said Ashland assistant men's tennis coach Christian Hamilton.

The Eagles' lone point came in first singles from junior Priyank SoniSoni was dominant in his win, a 6-3, 6-4 straight sets victory.

In doubles, the duo of senior Stanislaw Grzeslo and freshman Tche Kun Teng won at No. 3 doubles, 6-1.

The Eagles will have a quick turnaround, playing again on Tuesday (March 5) against Toledo at Coastal Carolina.
