Eagles Lose Fourth Straight During Tough GLIAC Stretch

Eagles Lose Fourth Straight During Tough GLIAC Stretch

Ashland University's men's tennis team lost its match on Sunday (April 7) against Northwood, 5-2.

The Eagles won one doubles match and went into singles play down a point. There, they won just two matches.

The AU men have now faced four of the top five teams in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in the past seven days.

Winning in doubles for Ashland were junior Priyank Soni and senior Stanislaw Grzeslo, 6-2.

In singles, it was the No. 1 and No. 2 men who were able to secure a point apiece for the Eagles. Soni won his match 7-5, 6-2. Freshman Stuart Brdicka didn't look as if he would lose for a second, winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

With the loss, AU is now 9-10 overall, and falls to 2-4 in the GLIAC.

Next up for the Eagles is a four-match road trip to conclude the regular season. First on that trip is Michigan Tech on Friday (April 12) 10 a.m.
