Ashland Men Continue Play At ITAs

Ashland University's men's tennis team continued play on Day 2 of competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals on Sunday (Sept. 29) in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Eagle players only won two matches on Sunday, but lost their matches to some of the best opponents in the region.

Sophomore Colten Clark won one of his matches, 6-1, 6-3, over Bellarmine's Michael Staff.

Clark and sophomore Stuart Brdicka earned a massive result over Southwest Baptist's No. 5 ranked doubles duo, 8-4.

In other matches on the day, Brdicka lost in singles play to the region's No. 4 player, Augustin Diot of Drury; senior Priyank Soni and sophomore Jordan Phelps lost their match to the No. 2 seed doubles team in the region from Indianapolis, and Clark and Brdicka lost their other doubles match to the No. 4 seed team from Missouri-St. Louis.

Ashland will wrap up play at ITA Regionals on Monday (Sept. 30).
