2014: McDermott was the Eagles' leader in strikeouts (80), and was 8-2 with a 3.26 ERA...Pitched in 22 games (16 starts), and logged 79 1/3 innings...Added one save...Had a season-high nine strikeouts on Feb. 22 at Bellarmine and March 8 vs. Alderson Broaddus.

2013: Was second on the team in wins, ERA, starts and complete games...Was 11th in the GLIAC in innings pitched...At the NCAA regional tournament, was 2-2, posting wins over Wayne State (9-1) and Lewis (7-0).

2012: As a freshman, was AU's second starter behind Emlyn Knerem...Was 10th in the conference in strikeouts and tied for 10th in wins...Was second on the team in wins, appearances and innings.

High school: In three seasons at Norwayne, McDermott logged 730 strikeouts...Had eight no-hitters and three perfect games...As a junior, had 15 shutouts and 309 strikeouts...As a senior, played on a team that won a district championship and was a regional runner-up...Was named first-team All-Ohio her senior year...Was a two-time first-team All-Wayne County Athletic League and all-district choice...Also was named the WCAL’s Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior...Lettered in softball four times and in basketball once.

Personal: McDermott is the daughter of Brad and Yolanda McDermott...Is a biology/chemistry major and was named to the 2013 GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team (3.49 GPA or higher) and 2014 GLIAC All-Academic Team (3.0-3.49 GPA).
