Eagle Athletic Department Staff Changes Announced

Ashland University's athletic department saw several changes as the school's new fiscal year got underway on Monday (June 1).

Sheilah Gulas, entering her 20th season as AU's head softball coach, has assumed the added dual roles of Assistant Athletic Director and Senior Women's Administrator. Adam Bracken, entering his second year as the department's Compliance Officer, has added Assistant Athletic Director to his title.

Gulas is the longest-tenured active head coach at Ashland, is 664-319 (.675) guiding the Eagles and has led AU to seven consecutive NCAA postseason appearances. Bracken is the university's first full-time compliance officer, and formerly was athletic director at nearby Hillsdale High School and assistant athletic director at Ashland High School.

Both Gulas and Bracken will assist Director of Athletics Al King in the day-to-day operations of the department.

Kay Jenney, entering her 15th year in the AU athletic department, has been elevated to the position of Administrative Assistant. Jenney, who is located in the Robert Troop Center, works with all 19 intercollegiate athletic programs and is the secretary for AU's Gridiron Club.

Tom Scott, a 2012 Ashland University graduate, has been named the Eagles' new men's and women's head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach. He was a three-time All-American in track for the Eagles, and was the Division II indoor track and field Midwest Region Runner of the Year in 2011.

Scott had been a graduate assistant with the Michigan Tech cross country and track and field programs.

Alan Dunson, who joined the track and field staff in 2014-15, has been promoted to a full-time position.
