Ashland University's softball team ended the Dome Invitational in Rosemont, Ill., with a 3-2 record following a 6-1 loss on Sunday (Feb. 28) against Missouri S&T.
The Eagles and Miners were tied at 1 before a five-run S&T top of the fifth inning.
Junior left fielder Ally Farrah was 2-for-4, while junior second baseman Kalene Freshour drove in AU's lone run in the second with an RBI single.
Senior pitcher Sarah Alley allowed a run, a walk and four hits over the first four innings before giving way to fellow senior Brittany Flanigan (four hits, five runs and two walks over two-thirds of an inning). Freshman Abbie Sgro pitched the final 2 1/3 scoreless frames.
The Eagles will begin their annual Florida trip on Sunday, March 6 with games against Lock Haven (9 a.m.) and Bloomsburg (11 a.m.).
