Ten Ashland University softball players and the entire Eagle softball team earned 2015-16 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) academic honors, the NFCA announced late on Thursday (Oct. 6).
Seniors Sarah Alley, Bri Buckley, Jen Moore and Shelbie Prince; juniors Ally Farrah and Jenny Raguz and freshmen Halle Dorko, Laura Girgash, Abbie Sgro and Hannah Stroe all earned 2015-16 Easton/NFCA Division II Scholar-Athlete awards. They were among 963 student-athletes in NCAA Division II to earn the honor.
In addition, the Eagle softball team (3.442) as a whole ranked 30th out of 78 NCAA Division II programs which sported a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.00 or better.
