To open up its 2017 campaign, Ashland University softball lost 7-1 to William Jewell and 10-6 to Lewis on Friday (Feb. 24) at the Lewis University Flyers 2017 Dome Invitational in Rosemont, Ill.
The Eagles ended the game with 10 hits, in comparison to William Jewell's 14.
In Game 2, the Flyers scored seven of their 10 runs in the second inning. The Eagles responded with six runs total in the bottom of the second and third innings, due in large part to Dorko and senior Ally Farrah, who batted sixth and seventh, respectively. Sophomore Kylie Asmus also contributed, going 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in the leadoff spot.

UP NEXT: The Eagles will remain at Lewis for three more games through Sunday (Feb. 26). On Saturday (Feb. 25), Ashland will face Lindenwood at 10 a.m. and Illinois-Springfield at 4:30 p.m.
