Ashland University softball completed its second in-conference doubleheader sweep of the season on Saturday (April 15), taking two games at Tiffin.

The Eagles (23-18 overall, 10-6 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) won Game 1 over the Dragons (15-23, 2-11), 4-3 in eight innings, and Game 2, 2-1.

Ashland led for all of Game 1 until the bottom of the seventh, during which AU junior Paige McMenemy allowed Tiffin to force extra innings by scoring three runs. In the top of the eighth, an RBI single by sophomore Kylie Asmus that scored senior Ally Farrah ended up being the game-winning hit.

Farrah, senior Jenny Raguz and sophomore Kayla Troyer had the other RBIs during the win.

McMenemy earned her 13th victory of the season in the circle.

The Eagles fell behind early in Game 2, as the Dragons plated one in the top of the first.

Ashland sophomore Hannah Stroe didn't allow another run for the rest of the game. But it wasn't until the fourth that Ashland responded with a run of its own on an RBI double from sophomore Paige Summers that scored freshman Camille Pollutro

In the bottom of the sixth, Asmus supplied the Eagles with more late-game heroics. This time, all it took was a sacrifice fly to left field that once again plated Farrah as the game-winning run.

Stroe's win was her seventh, matching her season total from her freshman campaign.

Farrah was the only Eagle to have two multi-hit games on the afternoon. She now has a 12-game hit streak and a .456 batting average this season, slotting her in a tie for third in the GLIAC in that category.

UP NEXT: Ashland returns to Brookside Park on Wednesday (April 19) for a home non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:30 p.m. against Wheeling Jesuit.
