As announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Wednesday (May 9) afternoon, Ashland University junior third baseman Paige Summers is a second-team All-Midwest Region selection.
Summers led the Eagles in 2018 in home runs (nine), RBIs (35), walks (23), on-base percentage (.453) and slugging percentage (.641), was second on the team in batting average (.366), and added 29 runs scored, nine doubles and two triples.
Earlier this spring, Summers, a two-year starter for Ashland after transferring from NCAA Division I Bowling Green, was named to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second team.
This is the fifth consecutive season Ashland has had at least one player on an NFCA All-Region team.
