Ashland University junior first baseman Kylie Asmus earned NCAA Division II Google Cloud Academic All-District laurels from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (May 10) afternoon.
In her second season as a starter in 2018 after transferring from Ohio Northern, Asmus hit .362 with 28 runs scored, 11 doubles, a triple, four home runs, 25 RBIs, an on-base percentage of .393 and a slugging percentage of .519. She had a 15-game hitting streak from March 25-April 21.
Defensively, Asmus recorded a fielding percentage of .992 in 258 total chances.
Through the fall 2017 semester, Asmus sports a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average as an Exercise Science major.
Asmus is the 11th Ashland softball player to earn Academic All-District selection since 1993. She moves on to the ballot for NCAA Division II Google Cloud Academic All-American consideration, and that team will be announced on June 6 at 3 p.m.
