For the second time in less than a week, Ashland University junior third baseman Paige Summers has garnered All-Midwest Region recognition.

On Wednesday (May 9), Summers was named second-team all-region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA). On Monday (May 14) morning, she earned the same honor from the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).

Summers led the Eagles in 2018 in home runs (nine), RBIs (35), walks (23), on-base percentage (.453) and slugging percentage (.641), was second on the team in batting average (.366), and added 29 runs scored, nine doubles and two triples.

Earlier this spring, Summers was named to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference second team.

For the fifth spring in a row, Ashland's softball team has had at least one all-region performer on the D2CCA team, formerly known as the Daktronics all-region team.
