For her strong start to the annual Florida Spring Break trip, Ashland University senior pitcher Hannah Stroe has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Week 3 Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday (March 5) morning.
Pitching twice on the start of the trip on Sunday (March 3), Stroe authored a complete-game six-hitter against Felician, allowing a run and a walk and striking out three in the 7-1 victory. She then came into the game vs. Georgian Court in relief, tossing three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out one.
Stroe is the first Ashland player to earn a GLIAC weekly award since Dayna Denner was the Player of the Week on April 10, 2017, and is the first Eagle pitcher to be GLIAC Pitcher of the Week since Sarah Alley on April 11, 2016.
