AU swimmers Hannah Mattar and Philipp Sikatzki are this week's GLIAC swimmers of the week.

Mattar is the women's swimmer of the week. At Cleveland State last weekend, she was part of the 400 medley that placed first (3:52.43). Mattar was the runner-up in the 200 IM (2:06.46), 200 breaststroke (2:17.29) and 400 IM (4:25.66). She was on the 200 medley that finished third (1:47.33).

Sikatzki was in the pool a lot at Cleveland State and produced quality times every time.

Siktzki won the 200 IM in 1:49.87, which is a meet record. He was first in the 100 backstroke in 48.45. That time is a school, meet and pool record. In the 100 butterfly, the freshman finished first in 48:00. That time is an automatic qualifier for the NCAA Championships.

Sikatzki was second in the 200 medley (1:31.55), 400 medley (3:21.00), 800 free (6:49.88) and 200 backstroke (1:49.59). In the 200 medley, he set a school record in his individual leg - the 50 backstroke.

Mattar and Sikatzki are the first Ashland swimmers to be honored by the GLIAC this season.

AU returns to the pool on Jan. 3 at Malone.
