Sikatzki Leads AU Swimmers At Kenyon

The AU swimming and diving teams spent Friday and Saturday (Jan. 17-18) at Kenyon. This was not a meet for the faint of heart. This field included Ohio State, Cincinnati, Oakland and the host Lords. Those are some of the blue bloods in college swimming.

AU's Philipp Sikatzki showed he belonged in that company. He was second in the 100 backstroke (48.93) and third in the 200 IM (1:52.40). He was part of the 400 free relay that was second, the 200 free relay that was second and the 200 medley relay that was third.

The 200 free came home in 1:23.03. Sikatzki was joined in that effort by Jacob Miller, Sergio Sanchis Peris and Hueston Holder.

The 400 free relay included Sikatzki, Alex Sheil, Holder and Sanchis. They completed the race in 3:03.87.

The 200 medley lineup consisted of Sikatzki, Greg Walters, Sanchis and Miller.

The women's 200 free relay placed second in 1:36.92. That quartet was made up of Kaylyn Murphy, Gabriela Verdugo-Arzaluz, Anna Evans and Laurin McClure.

AU will welcome Malone to town on Thursday (Jan. 23, 6 p.m.).
