Sikatzki Is National Swimmer Of The Week

Ashland University freshman Philipp Sikatzki is this week's CollegeSwimming.com Division II men's swimmer of the week.

Last week, Sikatzki was named the GLIAC male swimmer of the year and the GLIAC male freshman swimmer of the year. Sikatzki won three individual events at the GLIAC Championships, two in both conference and meet records.

Sikatzki set GLIAC marks in the 100 butterfly (47.24) and 100 backstroke (47.10). He also won the 50 freestyle (20.21). The freshman was part of the 200 free relay that was second, the 400 medley that was third, the second place 400 free relay and the third place 200 medley relay.

Sikatzki will be competing at the NCAA Championships, which will be held in March at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The GLIAC Championships were also held in Geneva.

Sikatzki is the second AU student-athlete to win national athlete of the week honors this week. Track and field's Drew Windle is the NCAA Division II men's track athlete of the week.
