Swimmers Collect Three All-America Awards On Friday

Three more All-America citations came to the Ashland University swimmers on Friday (Mar. 14) at the NCAA Championships in Geneva, Ohio. This was the third day of competition. The Championships will conclude with a full day of races on Saturday.

Freshman Philipp Sikatzki finished fifth in the 100 backstroke. His time was 47.92.

Sophomore Hannah Mattar was 11th in the 200 butterfly. She clocked in at 2:02.40.

Senior Sara Reidler was 14th in the 100 backstroke. She hit the touchpads in 56.57.

The AU men are 15th in the team standings with 71 points. Drury has a commanding lead in the race for the national title. The Panthers have 406.5 points. Florida Southern (257) is second and Wayne State (254.5) is third.

The Ashland women are 18th with 55 points. Drury is in first place with 358 points and Wayne State is second with 349 points.
