Two Relays, Mattar, Sikatzki Get Awards On Final Day

The AU swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2014 NCAA Championships on Saturday (Mar. 15) with four All-America awards.

Hannah Mattar was third in the 200 breaststroke. Her time - 2:13.04 - broke her own school record.

Freshman Philipp Sikatzki was 13th in the 200 backstroke. His time was 1:47.58.

The men's 400 free relay was 15th in 3:01.30. The AU swimmers in the race were Sikatzki, Sergio Sanchis Peris, Hueston Holder and Alex Sheil.

The women's 400 free relay was also 15th. The women hit the touchpads in 3:27.56. The members of the relay were Gabriela Verdugo-Arzaluz, Anna Evans, Sara Reidler and Kaylyn Murphy.

The AU men finished 18th in the team standings with 79 points. The Eagle women were 20th with 75 points.

Drury won both team championships. The Wayne State women finished second and the Florida Southern men were the national runners-up.

This year's NCAA Championships took place at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
