The College Swimming Coaches Association of America has recognized nine Ashland University swimmers with Scholar All-American status for the 2014 spring semester.
The Scholar All-American award is presented to all college and university swimmers and divers who achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and also qualified for their respective national championship.
Ashland had four male and five female athletes qualify for this prestigious award.
The female swimmers included Hannah Mattar, Laurin McClure, Sara Reidler, Jessica Steible and Gabriela Verdugo-Arzaluz.
On the male side, Jacob Miller, Alex Sheil, Philipp Sikatzki, and Corey Wengerd received recognition.
All nine athletes achieved outstanding athletic accomplishments, as well as high marks in the classroom.
