Swimmers, Divers Finish Day 2 of Magnus Cup Invitational

The Ashland University swimming and diving teams completed their second day of action Saturday (Nov. 22) at Cleveland State's Magnus Cup Invitational.

The men's 200-yard medley relay consisting of Sergio Sanchis Peris, Greg Walters, Calvin Higdon and Joshua Nixon finished fifth out of 14 teams with a time of 1:32.76.

Sanchis Peris also collected a second-place finish in the finals of the 100-yard backstroke. He finished in 50.40 seconds. Walters claimed fourth place in the finals of the 100-yard breaststroke. He touched in 58.15 seconds.

Hannah Mattar won the prelims of the 400-yard individual medley and finished second in the finals with a time of 4:22.87. She also finished fourth in the finals of the 100-yard breaststroke.

Junior Kaylyn Murphy placed seventh in the finals of the 200-yard freestyle. She swam it in 1:56.19.

In 1-meter diving, Matthew Dixon placed second and Bryce Buderer finished third in the finals.

Sunday (Nov. 23) will be the third and final day of the Magnus Cup Invitational. Action will begin at 9 a.m.
