Mattar, Green Earn Academic All-District At-Large Honors

Ashland University juniors Hannah Mattar (swimming) and Ali Green (women's golf) have earned spots on the 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District Women's At-Large Teams in Division II, District 4.

The At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), were released on Thursday (May 14).

In 2014-15, Mattar competed in four events at nationals, earning three All-American honors and earning enough points by herself to have the AU women's team place in a tie for 21st nationally. She also earned 52.5 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings points for the Eagle athletic program. Mattar also won three Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles, and was named the GLIAC Women's Swimmer of the Year.

Mattar owns a 3.98 cumulative grade-point average in Hospitality Management.

Green is part of the AU women's golf team currently competing at the national tournament, and helped the Eagles finish in a tie for second at the East Super Regional. She has earned first-team All-GLIAC honors, and was named conference Golfer of the Week after winning the NC4K Classic.

Green is an Intervention Specialist major with a 3.84 GPA.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later in May.
