Eagles Finish Day 1 At Eastern Michigan Invite

To start their final action of 2016, Ashland University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in Day 1 of the Eastern Michigan Invitational on Friday (Dec. 2) night.

In the women's 1,650-yard freestyle, junior Madison Olander led the way by finishing sixth in 18:57.22, while in the women's 200 breaststroke, junior Grace Reichard was sixth in 2:24.30.

Sophomore Ben Keilholz paced the Eagle contingent in the men's 100 free, placing sixth in 47.24, while in the men's 200 breaststroke, sophomore Daniel Callis was sixth in 2:08.82.

In the women's 400 free relay, the quartet of Reichard, freshman Rebecca Prexta, sophomore Julia Grady and junior Zoe Scarpone took fifth (3:40.80), while the men's 400 relay team of sophomore Keegan Goeke, senior John Scalli, Keilholz and freshman Charles Sutton placed sixth (3:14.85).

Through 14 events, the Eagle men are fourth in a six-team field, while the AU women are third in a five-team field.
