The Ashland University women's and men's swimming teams each finished the Total Performance Sports Camps in fifth place. The three-day event, which wrapped up on Saturday (Dec. 2), was hosted by Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.

The Eagles had three swimmers place 11th in individual events to tie for the best finishes on the Saturday.

On the men's side, freshman Dylan Nasser was 11th to touch in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:51.21. Nasser was also 12th in the 200 individual medley, clocking in at 1:55.09.

Junior Daniel Callis placed 11th in the 200 breaststroke, touching the pad in 2:07.48.

Senior Ryan Deemer swam the 500 freestyle in 4:52.51, while junior Keegan Goeke clocked in at 53.55 seconds in the 100 butterfly. Both placed 19th overall.

Junior Ben Keilholz finished 24th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.40 seconds.

Nasser, Goeke, Keilholz and senior Josh Nixon were 12th in the 400 freestyle relay with atime of  3:13.83.

On the women's side, senior Grace Reichard swam the 200 breaststroke in 2:23.35 to finish in 11th place.

In the 100 butterfly, senior Zoe Scarpone clocked in at 1:00.09 to finish in 18th place. Junior Julia Grady was 25th in the race with a time of 1:01.52.

Junior Erin Staley and Scarpone finished back-to-back in the 500 freestyle with times of 5:19.62 and 5:20.36, respectively.

Scarpone, Reichard, Grady and freshman Maura Delaney were 16th in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:47.04.

The Eagles return to the pool next Saturday (Dec. 9) in a home dual meet against visiting Cleveland State. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. at Messerly Natatorium.
