Eagles Compete In Day One At Kenyon College

Ashland University's swimming and diving team competed in the first of three days of competition at the Total Performance Sports Camps Invitational, hosted by Kenyon College, on Thursday (Nov. 29).

Teams participated in 10 events on Day 1.

Ashland's best finish came in the women's 200-yard freestyle relay. The team comprised of senior Julia Grady, sophomore Jessica Zaper, senior Sophie Brightman, and freshman Abigail Ellsworth finished seventh in the event with a time of 1:39:48.

The second-best finish for the Eagles also came in the women's 200 free relay. Sophomore Maura Delaney, sophomore Marissa Kassinger, freshman Cat Darnell, and freshman Anne Evans finished 12th, with a time of 1:43:67.

The best finish on the men's side was a 14th place in the 500-yard freestyle by freshman Franci Aleksi (4:39:00).

Ashland will compete again on Friday (Nov. 30) in the second day of competition at the Total Performance Sports Camps Invitational.
