Ashland University's women's swimming and diving team lost to Davenport on Saturday (Nov. 9).
The Eagles were outscored by the Panthers, 170-78.
Junior Jessica Zaper was the only Eagle swimmer to win an event on the day. Zaper won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.72.
A host of Ashland's swimmers finished in second place in their event. Junior Tara Stevens finished in second in the 1,000 free (10:50.72) and in the 500 free (5:17.62), sophomore Abigail Ellsworth was second in the 200 free (2:00.19), freshman Abby Locke (2:18.44) was second in the 200 individual medley, sophomore Morgan Gardner finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:25.00), freshman Sydney Kermath came in second in the 200 backstroke (2:11.80), and the 200 free relay team of Ellsworth, Delaney, Zaper and freshman Gabby Bess finished second (1:42.94).
In women's diving, freshman Madison Jarrett was second in the 3-meter dive for Ashland (218.55).
The Eagles will compete next at the Malone Invite on Nov. 16 at noon.
