Ashland University's nationally-ranked indoor track and field teams are growing their presence at the upcoming Division II Championships (March 13-14 in Birmingham, Ala.) on a weekly basis.

Combined, the Eagle women (ranked second in the country) and Eagle men (ranked third) now have eight automatic national-qualifying efforts and 22 provisional national-qualifying showings after the weekend's action at the Findlay Indoor Open & Elite Throws meet (Jan. 30) and the Penn State National meet (Jan. 30-31).

Senior Drew Windle, the two-time USTFCCCA Men's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Year and two-time national champion in the indoor 800-meter run, now has the fastest Division II time in that event this season (1:48.41).

On the women's side, seniors Shatora Lewis (70-feet-0½) and Jessica Bridenthal (69-feet-2½) have this season's two best marks in the country in the weight throw.

The Eagles will be back in action at the Akron Blue/Gold meet on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 6-7).
