Late Thursday (April 9) night, Ashland University Strength & Conditioning Coach A.G. Kruger and Eagle throwers Bryn Campbell and Zac Ball competed in the men's hammer throw at the Tennessee Relays at the Tom Black Track Complex in Knoxville, Tenn.
Kruger won the event with a top mark of 74.09 meters/243-feet-1, occurring on his fourth attempt. Campbell, a sophomore, placed third (64.82 meters/212-feet-8), while Ball took fifth (63.24 meters/207-feet-6).
Campbell's distance is an automatic-qualifying standard for the 2015 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Nationals, May 21-23 in Allendale, Mich. – AU's first automatic qualifier this spring.
Both AU outdoor track and field squads will be back in action on Friday (April 10) and Saturday (April 11) at the All-Ohio meet at Miami University.
